Wednesday, March 26th, 2008Experience Columbus!
Thursday, March 20th, 2008Out-of-town guests coming in on Friday night: Don’t confine yourselves to your hotel room Saturday morning and afternoon waiting for the wedding! Get out and explore Columbus! I’ve added some fun activities and places that you can visit to our FAQ page, which you can access from the navigation at the right. I’ve included the web pages for each suggestion, but if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
Calm before the storm
Wednesday, March 19th, 2008In the world of wedding planning, March has been pretty boring. We’re so far ahead of the game with scheduling and booking and what-not, that there’s really not anything to do.
I am going dress shopping again sometime in the next week, either Saturday or Monday. I have a feeling the place I’m going to this week will be a lot more expensive than the place in Cincinnati, so this may just be a fantasy shop.
Next month, however, hoo-boy. There will be a LOT going on!
- Ordering the dress
- Buying shoes and other accessories
- Talking with a florist
- Scheduling my hair and makeup test-runs and real-deals
- Figuring out invitations
- Planning the honeymoon!
It should be a very exciting month in the Jenkins/Duffy household.
FAQ’s
Wednesday, March 12th, 2008Along the right hand side of this blog, you’ll see a new page you can visit entitled “Frequently Asked Questions”. You can check it out for the story of how Rob and I met, and some info about the wedding. If there are any questions you’d like to have answered, please post them in the comments section and I will add them (and the answers) to the FAQ page!
Eight months to go
Monday, February 25th, 2008Major upset!
Thursday, February 7th, 2008The first major upset of the wedding vendor campaign has occurred!
We decided to go with a different caterer! We sent in the deposit yesterday for Caterers Three, instead of Weiland’s Gourmet Market.
More as it develops.
Advice
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008So, Real Simple magazine says that a good tip for saving money is to scour eBay for things like, “ring bearer pillows, flower girl baskets, veils” etc. Apparently, I can find great gently used or new items for a lot less!
That’s awesome, because I’m not using ANY of those things. Can eBay find me a caterer approved by the YWCA who’ll do the job for $100?
I’ll give the magazine some credit. They do have a nice budget organizer that breaks things down to minute detail, and they have good ideas on how to honor deceased loved ones at the ceremony.
I guess it was worth my $9.
Engagement Cake
Monday, January 14th, 2008Rob’s family got him (us) this cake when he went home to New Jersey at Christmastime. Sadly, I was stuck here in Ohio so I didn’t get to sample any of it. I hear it was good.
And apparently his family gave the cake decorator the correct spelling of my name, and she went ahead and changed it anyway. Grr.
